Coach House starts its season with an intriguing two-person show, which was a hit on Broadway in 1977 with Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.
Weller and Fonsia, two elderly residents at a nursing home for senior citizens, begin playing a series of games of gin rummy which Fonsia always wins. While playing, they engage in conversations about their families and their lives in the outside world. Weller's inability to win a single hand becomes increasingly frustrating to him, and gradually, each conversation becomes a battle, much like the ongoing gin games.
Starring Richard Figge (Barrymore’s Ghost) and Jo McGarvey (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?)
